Trusted Motor Insurers Could Run Road Pricing in England

The Transport Secretary has indicated that motor insurers who charge policyholders on a pay-as-you-drive basis could bid to run government toll schemes. Alastair Darling suggested insurers as a possible provider because of their trustworthiness with the public. He suggested motorists could be reluctant to have their locations monitored by government.
