Road crashes are second only to aids as the leading cause of ill health and premature death worldwide amongst men aged between 15 and 44
|
This shocking statistic proves that road deaths are a global epidemic. If current trends continue, the number of people killed and injured on the world's roads will rise by more than 60 percent by the year 2020. Leading road safety experts gathered in Dubai for Safex 2006, to discuss ways of reducing the statistics. Organised by IVV, a worldwide association representing the interests of driving school proprietors and their associations, the Safex 2006 World Driver Training Conference on March 11th and 12th is the only international road safety conference that targets the role of driver training and education as a means to improving road safety.
